![]() ![]() ![]() Just watch the ending again and read the dialogue and see how Asriel explains how he doesn’t want to lose Chara again, it’s really sad. It gets to the point Asriel uses all his power but Frisk won’t give up, and Asriel begs to let him win. Same thing with Asriel, he could have crushed you like a grape or left you trapped alone in a cave with no way to escape, but instead he tries to break your determination himself, but Frisk still hangs on, their soul refusing to break. That’s the shame about killing your friends, you’d miss them afterwards.Įssentially it’s like in the old Star Wars movies where Darth Vader cuts off Luke’s hand and tells him that he is his father, and asks him to join in the dark side, Vader could have killed Luke then and there, with Luke under experienced and disarmed in more ways than one, but he doesn’t because he wants to rule the galaxy as father and son. Asriel knows if they just kill you and move on, Chara can’t “play” anymore. They don’t want to let go of Chara, their old friend, the only one who could possible relate to this feeling of having no empathy or ability to feel love. At this point Asriel has what he wants, he has the soul power to destroy the barrier, the only reason he still needs Frisk is because he is still delusional and acting like they are Chara. You reach out for it during battle but can’t reach it, you can’t move your body, you are no longer in control. Flowey/Asriel can save over and destroy your save file. When Flowey gets 6 human souls, or in this case, 6 human souls and all the monster souls, they have more determination than Frisk who only has 1 human soul. As Flowey explains, he couldn’t reset or save anymore once Frisk fell down, Frisk “saved over” Flowey because Frisk has more determination, more desire to live and thus overrides him. Frisk couldn’t reset if they wanted to, just like with Photoshop Flowey, he wouldn’t have enough determination. ![]()
